About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Tax Manager to join a well-established and growing public accounting firm in Anaheim, California. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated tax professional looking to take on a leadership role while working closely with firm partners, managing client relationships, and mentoring the next generation of tax professionals.
The successful candidate will oversee a broad range of tax engagements, provide strategic tax planning and compliance services, and play a key role in the continued growth and success of the firm's tax practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage tax engagements from planning through completion, ensuring quality, accuracy, and timely delivery.
- Prepare and review a wide range of tax returns, including individual, partnership, S Corporation, and C Corporation returns.
- Review workpapers prepared by staff and provide technical guidance and constructive feedback.
- Conduct tax research and stay current with federal, state, and local tax legislation to ensure compliance and identify planning opportunities.
- Work directly with clients to answer tax-related questions, resolve issues, and provide proactive tax planning advice throughout the year.
- Supervise workflow across multiple engagements while ensuring deadlines and budgets are met.
- Train, mentor, and develop junior tax professionals, fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment.
- Collaborate closely with firm partners on complex tax matters and client advisory projects.
- Assist with identifying process improvements to enhance efficiency within the tax department.
- Exposure to mergers & acquisitions, multi-state tax compliance, and other complex tax matters will be available for candidates interested in expanding their technical expertise.
Qualifications
- CPA license required.
- 5 years of public accounting tax experience.
- Master's in Taxation (MST) preferred but not required.
- Strong experience preparing and reviewing individual, partnership, S Corporation, and C Corporation tax returns.
- Knowledge of mergers & acquisitions and/or multi-state taxation is advantageous but not essential.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and client relationship management skills.
- Strong technical tax knowledge with exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
- Commitment to delivering exceptional client service and maintaining high professional standards.

Salary : $135,000 - $175,000
