Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee tax engagements from planning through completion.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop Tax Seniors, Associates, and Staff Accountants.
- Review complex corporate, partnership, individual, trust, and state tax returns.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, serving as a trusted advisor throughout the year.
- Research complex federal, state, local, and international tax matters and provide practical solutions.
- Assist clients with corporate restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, and other strategic tax planning initiatives.
- Monitor engagement budgets, timelines, and deliverables to ensure quality service.
- Identify tax planning opportunities while proactively managing risk.
- Stay current on tax legislation and technical developments.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
- CPA license required.
- Master's in Taxation or equivalent is a plus.
- 5 years of progressive public accounting tax experience.
- Strong technical knowledge of corporate, partnership, individual, federal, state, and local taxation.
- Experience with corporate restructuring, mergers & acquisitions, and consolidated tax returns is highly desirable.
- Proficiency with tax software such as CCH ProSystem or CCH Axcess.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and client management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple engagements in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
