About the Opportunity

I’m currently working with a well-established public accounting firm looking to expand its audit team by hiring an Audit Manager.

My client provides audit, tax, bookkeeping, and advisory services to a diverse range of clients, including nonprofits, government entities, affordable housing organizations, employee benefit plans, charter schools, construction businesses, and more.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced audit professional to take ownership of client engagements, lead and develop a team, and build strong relationships with clients while playing an important role in the firm’s continued growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage audits, reviews, compilations, and other attest engagements from planning through completion.
  • Oversee engagement budgets, staffing, schedules, and deadlines.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop senior and staff auditors, providing technical guidance and feedback.
  • Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards and firm policies.
  • Identify audit risks, assess internal controls, and develop risk-based audit plans.
  • Perform complex audit procedures and evaluate financial reporting processes.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the audit process, addressing queries and maintaining strong relationships.
  • Review and deliver client reports, financial statements, audit findings, and recommendations.
  • Monitor engagement progress to ensure work is completed efficiently, on time, and within budget.
  • Support business development activities, including identifying new opportunities and contributing to proposals.
  • Contribute to internal initiatives, process improvements, and team training.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred.
  • CPA certification required, or actively working toward certification.
  • 5 years of experience in public accounting or audit services.
  • Strong technical knowledge of GAAP, auditing standards, and financial reporting requirements.
  • Proven experience managing audit engagements, budgets, staff, and client relationships.
  • Strong leadership, mentoring, and team development skills.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple engagements and meet deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Proficiency in accounting and audit software and Microsoft Office.
  • Reliable transportation and ability to work in the office regularly, typically 3–5 days per week.

Benefits

  • Flexible paid time off
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k) retirement plan with employer matching
  • Hybrid working arrangement
  • Paid parental leave
  • Life insurance
  • License, certification, and CPE fee coverage
  • Regular company outings
  • Relaxed and collaborative office environment

My client is committed to fostering an inclusive workplace and providing equal employment opportunities.
