About the Opportunity
A well-established and growing public accounting firm is seeking an experienced Audit Manager to join its Audit & Assurance team. This is an outstanding opportunity for a client-focused leader who enjoys managing engagements, mentoring staff, and playing an active role in business development.
The successful candidate will oversee a diverse portfolio of audit, review, and compilation engagements while serving as a trusted advisor to clients across a range of industries.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage audit, review, and compilation engagements from planning through completion.
- Lead multiple client engagements simultaneously, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, acting as their primary point of contact throughout the year.
- Review work prepared by staff and provide technical guidance, coaching, and mentorship.
- Develop engagement budgets, monitor progress, and manage profitability.
- Evaluate internal controls and identify opportunities to improve client processes.
- Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with professional standards.
- Collaborate with partners to resolve technical issues and communicate engagement progress.
- Participate in business development by identifying new opportunities and cultivating relationships with prospective clients and referral sources.
- Assist with recruiting, staff development, and internal training initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting (or equivalent qualifying education).
- Active CPA license required.
- 6 years of progressive public accounting audit experience, including supervisory responsibilities.
- Proven experience managing audit engagements and leading client relationships.
- Demonstrated success in business development and growing client relationships is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, auditing standards, and internal controls.
- Experience with CCH or similar audit and tax software is preferred.
- Excellent leadership, communication, project management, and organizational skills.
- Willingness to travel locally to client sites, with occasional overnight travel as required.
