This facility is a well established manufacturing company that specializes in the heat treatment and coating of automotive components. We have operations in Pontiac, Homer, Flint, Plymouth, and Puebla Mexico. This job opportunity is at our headquarters location in Pontiac. We are a growing company that is looking for ambitious, talented people to join our team. The ideal candidate will be hardworking, detail oriented, and reliable.
Shifts:
Day shift: 7am - 7pm
Night shift: 7pm - 7am
12 hour shifts, but you will alternate between working only a 3 day(36 hour) and 4 day(44 hour) week.
Optional overtime.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Operate an automatic gauging machine
2. Assess and fix basic machine errors that may arise during regular production
3. Changeover the machine to accommodate different parts as necessary
4. Clearly communicate issues that arise throughout the day to their direct supervisor
5. General understanding of computers
6. Basic operation of automation equipment
7. Interface with HMI to manually operate an automatic gauge
8. Occasionally assist with other general labor roles

Qualifications:
- 1 year of previous machine operation or maintenance experience (preferred)
- High school diploma and/or GED equivalent
- Must successfully pass operator evaluation at the end of the training period
- Perform each essential duty satisfactorily
- Possess the ability to read and interpret documents, procedure manuals, and safety literature.
- Possess adequate oral communication skills to communicate well with other team members
- Possess the ability to process basic math calculations
- Reliable transportation
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, sit, walk, finger/handle/feel, climb, balance and kneel. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift/move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Plant environment can include extremes in temperature.
