What are the responsibilities and job description for the CNC MACHINIST position at Career Connections Staffing Services?
We have immediate openings for CNC machinist / operators to join our team! The main responsibility of this role will be to set up and operate CNC Lathe and Mill Machines to produce quality product to our customers.
The ideal candidate will be reliable, easy to work with, has a positive attitude, and will have good communication and organizational skills. This person should be capable of high-precision work, while acting as a team player. This is a full-time and permanent position!
Shift:
7am-5:30pm M-F
Occasional Saturday overtime as needed
Pay Rate:
$16-$25/hr based on skill level

Main Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate CNC Mill and/or Lathe to perform multiple machining and cutting operations
- Inspect parts for defects and ensure product is up to customer standards
- Inspect and gauge parts
- Edit programs as necessary
- Obtain all required tooling, drawings, and any special instruction
- Detect, troubleshoot, and report defective material and equipment, drawing discrepancies, and any other unusual or faulty conditions
- Oil and grease machines
- Check and replace coolant and tooling as necessary
- Ability to work independently and with a team
- Observes all safety regulations in all duties performed
- Keep machine and work area in a neat and orderly condition
- Some heavy lifting
- Follow all company rules, policies, safety rules and requirements
- Any other duties assigned
Requirements:
- 2 years experience in similar or related field preferred
- Degree through a machining program at an accredited college preferred but not required
- Demonstrated longevity of employment in the past
- A genuine interested in the trades or this line of work with the willingness to learn
- Experience with Fanuc controls preferred
- Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs repeatedly
- Must be able to stand, bend, reach and lift for at least 8hrs/day
- Ability to read and understand blue prints
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions
- Should be able to work closely with a team
- Must have reliable transportation and dependable attendance
- Must pass drug screening and background check
Having your own tools is preferred, but not required!
