GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide instruction for Pharmacology (HEA200). This course addresses the interaction between substances used as drugs and human body systems. Knowledge of natural sciences, pharmacokinetics, and pharmacodynamics between chemical entities and receptors, and pharmacological concepts of administration, dosage and patient safety are stressed. Emphasis is placed upon mechanisms of action, side effects, and drug interactions. Course is offered in-person Tuesdays from 5:30 pm - 8:30 pm during the Spring 2026 semester.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
- Provide on campus instruction utilizing educational technologies.
- Select and develop appropriate materials for class use to fulfill course learning outcomes.
- Track and assess student progress.
- Maintain appropriate attendance and learner records.
- Participate in ongoing professional development.
Job Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in a health science or a closely related field.
- Effective pedagogical, teaching, and presentation skills.
- Experience using evidence-based strategies to support student success including frequent communication and active learning.
- Experience in the medical field.
- Ability to create a classroom environment that engages students and supports learning.
- Skill in using technology to support the writing, teaching, and learning processes.
- Unrestricted authorization to work in the United States.
ADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master's degree in Business or Nursing Education or a related field.
- College-level teaching experience.
- Professional development in teaching at the community college level.
- Skill using MOODLE to support student learning.
