GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
Teach Oral Pathology (DEN 206) to first year dental hygiene students. This is a 2-credit course that incorporates knowledge of general and oral pathology, comprehensive oral examination procedures, recognition of deviations from the normal, the clinical aspects of pathological processes affecting the patient, and the oral cavity. Course to be delivered during the Spring 2026 semester on Tuesdays from 9:50 - 11:40 AM.
Job Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Massachusetts Dental / Dental Hygiene License.
- Teaching experience in a college setting or equivalent.
- Excellent presentation skills.
- Earned DDS or DMD or earned master's degree in dental hygiene or related field.
- Ability to create a classroom environment that supports learning.
- Unrestricted authorization to work in the United States.
ADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous experience teaching Oral Pathology in a community college setting.
- Evidence of current teaching methodologies, including experiences with media, innovative use of evolving instructional technologies in the classroom, and the use of learning management systems such as Moodle.
- Skill in implementing active and collaborative learning strategies.

COMPENSATION: Anticipated starting salary - Step 1 DCE pay scale. Part-time, non-benefitted MCCC/DCE Unit position.
