GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide instruction for the Medical Terminology (BST103) course that serves students in both the Health Sciences programs (Medical Assisting and Diagnostic Technician) and the Business Technology programs (Medical Coding & Billing and Medical Administrative Assistants). This is the gateway course for several programs and is offered in-person Fridays 12:30 pm - 3:30 pm during the Spring 2026 semester.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
- Provide on campus instruction utilizing educational technologies.
- Select and develop appropriate materials for class use to fulfill course learning outcomes.
- Track and assess student progress.
- Maintain appropriate attendance and learner records.
- Participate in ongoing professional development.
Job Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in a health science or a closely related field.
- Effective pedagogical, teaching, and presentation skills.
- Experience using evidence-based strategies to support student success including frequent communication and active learning.
- Experience in the medical field.
- Ability to create a classroom environment that engages students and supports learning.
- Skill in using technology to support the writing, teaching, and learning processes.
- Unrestricted authorization to work in the United States.
ADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master's degree in Business or Nursing Education or a related field.
- College-level teaching experience.
- Professional development in teaching at the community college level.
- Skill using MOODLE to support student learning.

COMPENSATION: Anticipated starting salary - Step 1 DCE pay scale. Part-time, non-benefitted MCCC/DCE Unit position.
