GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Department of Mathematics is seeking a part-time Instructor to teach Precalculus with Trigonometry and a wide range of Developmental Math courses from Pre-Algebra to Intermediate Algebra. This includes preparing and presenting lectures, leading and facilitating classroom discussions, and evaluating and grading student performance while maintaining a focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion in pursuing equitable student outcomes. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching, a deep understanding of Mathematics, and the ability to inspire and engage students. Position to be filled for Spring 2026 semester (January 15 - May 18, 2026).
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
- Provide instruction in both traditional and non-traditional learning modes.
- Select and develop appropriate materials for class use including posting all course materials in the Moodle LMS.
- Maintain appropriate attendance and learner records.
- Track and assess student progress based on quizzes, exams, and assignments.
Job Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master's degree in mathematics OR a bachelor's degree in mathematics with a master's degree in statistics, data science, mathematics education, OR a mathematics-related field such as physics, engineering, or computer science, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach to working with students and colleagues.
- Ability to meet the challenges of a student body with diverse abilities, interests, and backgrounds.
- Unrestricted authorization to work in the United States.
ADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience teaching Mathematics at the college level.
- Expertise teaching the necessary content knowledge in Mathematics using a popular Learning Management System (i.e. Canvas, Moodle, Blackboard). (Moodle training with respect to course organization and optimization will be provided as needed.)

COMPENSATION: Anticipated staring salary - Step 1 DCE pay scale. Part-time, non-benefitted MCCC/DCE Unit position.
