Essential Functions
- Sets up for events, carries trays, serves guests, and cleans up at the event's conclusion.
- Set up includes: putting out tablecloths and place settings, arranging table placement, and putting up a buffet.
- Clean up includes: breaking down tables and taking tablecloths and linens to laundry.
- Inspects linen, silver, china, and other items prior to using them.
- Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of menu; market specials and suggest alternatives to guests.
- Takes and fills customer orders.
- Checks food prior to serving; ensures presentation and temperature is in accordance with company standards.
- Coordinates service with other servers.
- Serves food and beverages to guests, refills beverages as needed.
- Responds to customer requests and complaints in a timely and courteous manner.
- Uses a computer to ring orders on a check.
- Accepts different types of payment and makes accurate change.
- Checks for identification of guests to ensure guests are of legal age to consume alcoholic beverages.
- Refuses to serve beverages in a polite manner to guests who are not of legal age.
- Observes behavior, counts number of alcoholic drinks served, and ask a manager to intervene, as necessary.
- Completes other tasks and duties as assigned based on business needs.
- Previous hotel/hospitality or related service industry experience is strongly preferred.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must be able to pass required Alcohol service training.

- Schedule may vary due to the specific needs of the hotel.
- This job operates behind the bar and other close quarters in close proximity to co-workers. The noise level in the work environment can be loud. Hazards may include, but are not limited to, cuts, slipping, tripping and burns.
- Must be able to sit or stand in designated work area throughout the day based on business needs.
- Must have the ability to move around freely throughout the designated work area.
- Must be able to exert well-paced ability to reach tables and kitchen in a timely manner.
- Must be able to lift up to 25-30 lbs. frequently throughout shift, and lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
- Requires grasping, writing, sitting or standing, moving about freely, using computer, repetitive motions, bending, reaching, crouching, and communicating effectively.
- Must be willing and able to wash hands frequently throughout the shift
