The Upper School Math Dept. at Cannon School seeks teaching candidates who are experienced in teaching courses ranging from Geometry to Precalculus. Experience with Statistics and Calculus would be a plus. Ideal candidates will be able to teach a range of high school math courses and embrace innovative teaching practices and curriculum.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Teach a load of four classes out of a six-period day (teachers are expected to teach a load of four classes and two to three preps, though other situations may be contractually negotiated).
- Perform various duties, such as proctor morning or afternoon make-up work sessions, lunch duty, etc.
- Advise approximately 10 students throughout the year by serving as the point person to communicate with them and their families regarding academic and other issues.
- Organize and/or attend class trips as chaperones.
- Chaperone events and sports activities throughout the year.
- Communicate with parents of students on a regular basis via letters, email, phone calls, and/or meetings.
- Attend a reasonable number of student performances and events.
- In addition, teachers are generally expected to perform one major extracurricular of 80-160 hours per year, particularly after their first year of employment.
- Attend mandatory faculty meetings and other events.
- Other duties, as assigned by the Head of Upper School.
Qualifications:
YEARS OF EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION REQUIRED:
BA required, Masters preferred, a minimum of 2 years teaching experience preferred
