What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lower School Counselor - Long Term Substitute position at CANNON SCHOOL INC?
We are hiring a Lower School Counselor to serve as a long-term substitute during a maternity leave, beginning August 1, 2026 and continuing through early November 2026. This role is designed to provide day-to-day support for the social-emotional and behavioral needs of students in Lower School.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide individual and group counseling support with students and parents
- Consult with students, parents, teachers, and administrators to assist in meeting the needs of students
- Conduct classroom classes for Kindergarten through Fourth Grade focused on social emotional learning and wellnes
- Work collaboratively with Lower School Learning Specialist to support the needs of students and familie
- Maintain current and appropriate resources for use with all constituents
- Conduct observations of students
- Conduct additional responsibilities as assigned by direct supervisor
MA, MEd or MS in Counseling, School Counseling, or School Social Work required.
Counseling Experience in a school setting required.
Licensed School Counselor K-12, LCMHCA, LCMHC, or LCSW preferred
Minimum of three years of experience preferred.
