Camp Cannon Nurse

The Camp Cannon Nurse plays a vital role in ensuring the health and safety of all campers and staff. This position requires a licensed nursing professional who demonstrates sound clinical judgment, autonomy, and a compassionate approach to care. The camp nurse is responsible for providing direct healthcare services and promoting a safe, healthy camp environment.

Primary Responsibilities

• Administer medications and provide first aid to campers and staff in accordance with medical protocols.
• Assess health concerns, deliver emergency care as needed, and coordinate referrals to medical facilities when appropriate.
• Treat minor injuries and illnesses on-site and ensure prompt referral of serious conditions to medical professionals.
• Communicate effectively with parents, camp counselors, and leadership regarding camper health concerns.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, including documentation of all treatments and administered medications.
• Complete and file medication administration records, accident/incident reports, and health logs in a timely manner.
• Implement and enforce all camp health and safety policies, ensuring compliance with state and camp guidelines.

• Current North Carolina Registered Nurse (RN) licensure required.
• Pediatric nursing experience preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification (current and valid) strongly preferred.
