Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed obstetric and gynecological ultrasound examinations, including fetal growth assessments, anomaly scans, and gynecological evaluations.
- Utilize advanced sonography equipment to produce clear diagnostic images, ensuring optimal image quality for accurate interpretation.
- Apply knowledge of anatomy and physiology to identify normal structures and detect abnormalities or pathologies.
- Maintain strict aseptic techniques during all procedures to prevent infection and ensure patient safety.
- Communicate clearly with patients to explain procedures, address concerns, and provide compassionate care throughout the imaging process.
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare professionals to interpret findings and assist in diagnosis.
- Document all procedures accurately within electronic medical records, ensuring compliance with privacy regulations.
- Stay current with advancements in medical imaging technology and OB/GYN practices through ongoing education.
Experience
- Proven experience in obstetric and gynecological sonography, with a strong foundation in maternal-fetal medicine preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and diagnostic radiology principles related to OB/GYN.
- Demonstrated proficiency in medical imaging techniques specific to obstetrics and gynecology.
- Familiarity with patient care protocols, including maintaining sterility and ensuring patient comfort.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients and multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to adapt quickly to new technologies and evolving clinical practices.
- Certification from an accredited sonography program or relevant professional body is highly desirable.
