Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist to join our advanced medical imaging team. This vital role involves performing diagnostic imaging procedures utilizing computed tomography technology to assist in accurate patient diagnosis and treatment planning. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of medical imaging modalities, including CT, PET scans, and other diagnostic radiology techniques, with a strong emphasis on patient safety, technical precision, and clinical collaboration. Responsibilities
- Operate computed tomography equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images, ensuring adherence to established protocols and safety standards.
- Prepare patients for imaging procedures by explaining the process, positioning them accurately, and ensuring their comfort throughout the examination.
- Collaborate with physicians and radiologists to determine appropriate imaging techniques based on clinical indications.
- Maintain detailed documentation of procedures performed, including patient information, technical parameters, and imaging results.
- Ensure strict compliance with aseptic techniques and infection control protocols during all procedures.
- Assist in the performance of specialized imaging procedures such as PET scans, mammography, DEXA scans for bone density assessment, and sonography as needed.
- Monitor patients during procedures for adverse reactions or discomfort and respond promptly according to emergency protocols.
- Maintain calibration and routine maintenance of imaging equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Stay current with advancements in medical imaging technology and participate in ongoing professional development.
- Support emergency room and Level I/Level II trauma center operations by providing rapid and accurate diagnostic imaging in urgent care scenarios.
Requirements
- Certification as a Radiologic Technologist with additional specialization in computed tomography from an accredited program.
- Proven experience working within emergency medicine environments, including Level I Trauma Centers or similar high-acuity settings.
- Extensive knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and diagnostic evaluation techniques.
- Hands-on experience with nuclear medicine procedures, PET scans, mammography, DEXA scans, X-ray imaging, and ultrasound (sonography).
- Familiarity with emergency room procedures and urgent care workflows.
- Strong understanding of aseptic technique principles to prevent infection during invasive or sterile procedures.
