Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Echocardiographer to join a cardiovascular team on a contract assignment. The ideal candidate will have strong experience performing comprehensive cardiac ultrasound examinations, including vascular testing, while providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Job Details

• Position: Echocardiographer
• Location: Paramus, New Jersey
• Shift: Days | 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
• Schedule: 5 × 8-hour shifts (40 hours/week)
• Contract Duration: 13 Weeks
• Start Date: August 3, 2026

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of a certified Cardiovascular Technology program or an accredited Ultrasonography program specializing in Cardiac Sonography.
• Current RDCS (Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer) or RDMS (Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer) certification.
• Current AHA BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
• Experience performing vascular testing is required.
• Knowledge of 2D, M-Mode, Doppler, Color Flow Imaging, Stress Echocardiography, TEE, Strain Imaging, and 3D Echocardiography.
• Familiarity with hemodynamic monitoring, sterile techniques, and computerized imaging systems.
• Must maintain continuing education requirements for echocardiography certification.
• Previous clinical echocardiography experience is preferred.
• Cardiac catheterization laboratory or invasive procedure experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive echocardiograms, including 2D, M-Mode, Doppler, Color Flow, Stress Echo, TEE, Strain, and 3D studies.
• Conduct required vascular ultrasound examinations.
• Obtain patient history and prepare patients for cardiac ultrasound procedures.
• Assist physicians during Stress Echocardiograms and Transesophageal Echocardiography (TEE) procedures.
• Recognize and communicate critical or abnormal findings promptly to the cardiologist.
• Acquire and store high-quality digital images for physician interpretation.
• Perform portable bedside echocardiography as needed.
• Maintain, calibrate, clean, and troubleshoot ultrasound equipment.
• Complete required documentation, billing records, and procedure logs accurately.
• Follow infection control, aseptic, and isolation protocols.
• Maintain a clean and safe patient care environment.
• Assist in training new staff members and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Pay: $2,400.00 - $2,700.00 per week

Education:

• Bachelor's (Required)

Experience:

• Echocardiography: 2 years (Required)
• vascular testing: 1 year (Required)

License/Certification:

• RDCS (Required)
• Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (Preferred)
• BLS Certification (Required)
