We are seeking an experienced X-Ray Technologist for a 13-week contract assignment.
This is an excellent opportunity for an X-Ray Tech looking for a consistent mid/evening shift.
Responsibilities
- Operate radiologic imaging equipment, including X-ray, fluoroscopy, CT (Computed Tomography), PET (Positron Emission Tomography), mammography, DEXA (Dual-Energy X-ray Absorptiometry) scans, and nuclear medicine devices with precision and adherence to safety protocols.
- Prepare patients for imaging procedures by explaining the process, positioning them correctly, and ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the examination.
- Implement radiation safety procedures diligently to protect patients, staff, and yourself from unnecessary exposure.
- Conduct diagnostic evaluations across various settings such as urgent care, emergency rooms, Level I Trauma Centers, and interventional radiology suites.
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams to determine appropriate imaging techniques based on clinical indications.
- Maintain detailed documentation of procedures performed and ensure all images are of high quality for accurate interpretation.
- Assist in specialized procedures including interventional radiography, fluoroscopy-guided interventions, nuclear medicine studies such as PET scans, and other diagnostic assessments requiring advanced technical skills.
- Uphold aseptic techniques during invasive procedures and maintain strict adherence to infection control standards.
Requirements
- Active Illinois license required
- Current state or national X-Ray certification/license required
- Less than 2 years of experience may be considered
- Updated resume with two references
- BLS AHA
- ARRT (R)
