Job Description And Duties
Under the direction of a Senior Assistant Attorney General, the paralegal will perform a wide range of duties related to the investigation and prosecution of advanced technology crime cases. Responsibilities include securing, analyzing, and organizing documentary evidence; locating witnesses and corporate information using Lexis and other research tools; and contacting victims, witnesses, and federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies to obtain records and information. The paralegal will also manage discovery by organizing and imaging materials and will file complaints with the District Attorney’s Office while coordinating with staff to ensure accurate entry of arrest warrant information.
Additional duties include preparing trial exhibits and jury instructions; subpoenaing witnesses, including securing orders for out-of-state witnesses; scheduling testimony; and providing litigation support before and during trial. The paralegal will conduct legal research using federal and state statutes, case law, regulations, and secondary sources, as well as computer programs, and other online resources, including social media and auction platforms. Responsibilities also include drafting charging documents, pleadings, certificates, declarations, and subpoenas. Travel is required.
