Job Description And Duties
The Risk Reduction Branch of the Transportation and Toxics Division is looking for a highly-motivated, creative, and technically-oriented manager to lead and mentor a section of enthusiastic staff tasked with analyzing, quantifying, and reducing risk from air toxics and other pollutants within California. The primary duties of this section include implementing California’s air toxics program such as developing airborne control measures; working closely with impacted communities to identify, understand, and reduce health impacts from air toxics; conducting and reviewing health risk assessments on a variety of stationary and mobile emission sources; and coordinating with other CARB divisions, U.S. EPA, CalEPA, OEHHA, air districts, and other government agencies, on risk assessment practices and air toxics programs. This position will require a candidate who can manage technical projects, translate results into plain language policy recommendations, and who can successfully lead cross-divisional teams.
