About the Role
As an Industrial Electrical Estimator, you will bridge the gap between complex engineering designs and practical field execution. You will play a critical role in driving project profitability by developing precise, field-informed cost estimates for large-scale industrial electrical installations.
Responsibilities- Analyze complex bid packages to generate comprehensive cost estimates covering labor, materials, and subcontractor requirements.
- Perform detailed takeoffs from electrical schematics, P&IDs, and isometric drawings to ensure high-accuracy project scoping.
- Conduct site walkthroughs to validate existing conditions and ensure estimates account for real-world installation constraints.
- Collaborate with engineering and construction teams to verify constructability and optimize execution strategies.
- Source electrical components and manage vendor relationships to secure competitive pricing and reliable material delivery.
- Ensure all project plans align with NEC, NFPA 70, and OSHA safety standards, including arc flash and LOTO requirements.
- Maintain meticulous documentation of all estimating assumptions and revisions to support project handoffs.
Required Skills
- 7 years of experience in electrical field construction.
- 3 years of professional experience in electrical estimating.
- Deep understanding of power distribution, instrumentation, and control wiring.
- Proficiency in interpreting blueprints, P&IDs, and multi-view technical drawings.
- Strong command of Microsoft Office Suite and industry-standard estimating software.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to industrial job sites.
Preferred Skills
- Prior experience with AutoCAD or SolidWorks design software.
- Proven ability to manage complex procurement strategies for industrial projects.
- Strong analytical mindset with a focus on process improvement and standardization.
