Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to prepare bids from start to finish. This crucial position in the preconstruction process is responsible for collecting ITBs, performing takeoffs, procuring vendor quotes, assembling estimates, sending out proposals and following up with clients to help us land work.
Full time, 40-hour work week, M-F, typically 8am-4:30pm. Fully on-site position (NO hybrid or remote work). Must be able to reliably commute to our Staten Island office located at 680 Sharrotts Road.
This position includes an optional 401(k) plan through associate membership in United Service Workers Union (USWU) Local 363A, and while it does not include healthcare insurance, we can negotiate a plan if that is a deal breaker.

Responsibilities
- Work on ITBs assigned to you by the Chief Estimator.
- Understand the project and all requirements detailed in the ITB, drawings and bid documents.
- Conduct a full and thorough takeoff of the drawings.
- Assemble estimates in EBM Vision software, ensuring accurate labor units, material costs, labor rates, markups and miscellaneous costs.
- Obtain and review offers and quotes by vendors or subcontractors.
- Generate detailed proposal letters outlining any inclusions and exclusions.
- Build relationships with clients to sell our services and receive feedback on bid proposals.
- Build relationships with key vendors (supply houses, subcontractors, etc.).
- Provide consultation during project kickoff meetings to aid planning and coordination of new projects.
- At least 5 years of previous experience as an Electrical Estimator on commercial projects ranging in size from $50k to $2.5M.
- Extensive knowledge of estimation formulas, methods and practices.
- Experience with EBM Vision (or a comparable estimating software such as Accubid).
- Proficient in blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and electrical system designs.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Thorough, reliable, highly organized, skilled at multi-tasking and thrives in working under deadlines.

Salary : $85,000 - $125,000
