Role Overview: Industrial Maintenance Technician - multi-craft maintenance/electro-mechanical
Shift Timing: 11:00PM to 7:30AM (Sunday night through Friday morning).
Compensation: $24.50 to $35.50 per hour, with additional pay for overtime hours.
Role Description: This role involves managing both routine and emergency maintenance tasks essential for our facility's production activities. Key objectives include executing preventive maintenance schedules, performing necessary equipment repairs to optimize production output, and ensuring spare parts inventory remains well-stocked. Candidates must be available to work over 40 hours weekly, including weekends, and participate in on-call rotations for technical support.
Core Duties:
The following tasks are central to this position:
- Diagnose and fix machinery and associated control systems, including AC/DC motors, drives, chillers, and downstream equipment.
- Participate in company-sponsored training to enhance and expand your technical expertise.
- Identify, request, and procure necessary replacement parts and control components from vendors.
- Support overall operational success by accurately documenting PM and repair tasks within the CMMS to ensure full compliance.
- Serve as the initial point of contact for equipment failures, escalating to Electrical Engineering when complex support is required.
- Provide active support for daily operational management goals and strategic initiatives.
- Drive production efficiency and help maintain a safe working environment by developing and executing continuous improvement projects.
- Collaborate closely with production personnel to guarantee the safe and consistent performance of all plant machinery.
Required Competencies:
Successful candidates will demonstrate the following knowledge and abilities:
- Expertise in utilizing electrical testing tools such as voltmeters, ammeters, ohmmeters, and Meggers.
- Comprehensive grasp of production machinery functions and operational sequences.
- Ability to interpret mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical schematics with precision.
- Familiarity with NFPA 79, UL508A, and NEC regulatory standards.
- Strict adherence to Lock Out Tag Out safety protocols.
- Comprehensive understanding of PPE and Arc Flash safety requirements.
- Proficiency in applying mechanical math and electrical equations.
- Working knowledge of industrial power distribution and 3-phase wiring.
- Practical experience with DC, AC, and servo motor/drive systems.
- Capability to diagnose PLC networking and I/O issues.
- Technical training in motion control via servo motors and drives.
- Competence in using Microsoft Word and Excel software.
Qualifications and Background:
- High School Diploma or Vocational School certification is mandatory.
- Background in pneumatic, hydraulic, or electrical technician work is preferred.
- Minimum of two years of experience in industrial maintenance, including controls and electrical systems.
- Foundational training in drives and PLCs.
- Prior experience with plastic processing is considered an advantage.
