About the Role
As an Industrial Electrical Cost Specialist, you will bridge the gap between complex engineering designs and practical field execution. You will leverage your deep technical expertise to translate blueprints into precise, competitive cost models that drive successful project outcomes across diverse industrial sectors.
Responsibilities- Analyze complex bid packages to develop comprehensive cost estimates covering labor, material procurement, and specialized equipment.
- Perform detailed takeoffs by interpreting electrical schematics, P&IDs, and multi-view isometric drawings.
- Conduct thorough site assessments to validate project conditions and ensure estimates align with real-world installation constraints.
- Collaborate with engineering teams and field supervisors to verify constructability and optimize execution strategies.
- Manage vendor relationships and material sourcing to ensure accurate pricing and timely delivery planning.
- Ensure all project estimates strictly adhere to NEC, NFPA 70, and OSHA safety standards, including arc flash and LOTO requirements.
- Maintain meticulous documentation of all assumptions and revisions to improve future estimating accuracy and standardization.
Required Skills
- 7 years of experience in electrical field construction.
- 3 years of professional experience in electrical estimating.
- Expertise in power distribution, instrumentation, and control wiring.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and P&IDs.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel for site inspections.
Preferred Skills
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD or SolidWorks software.
- Prior experience managing subcontractor scopes and vendor negotiations.
- Demonstrated ability to balance office-based planning with active field validation.
