Role Overview
We are seeking a dedicated professional for a permanent Balancing Equipment Technician position based in Southfield, MI. This role operates on a first-shift schedule, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with a compensation range of $28 to $30 per hour.
Core Responsibilities
- Configure, calibrate, and run balancing equipment for both production runs and prototype development.
- Execute rigorous machine testing and certification protocols, such as Gage R&R, CPK, and MU, to help uphold high standards of operational precision.
- Document, evaluate, and summarize balancing data, ensuring clear communication of findings through detailed reports.
- Manage calibration logs and verify master weights and parts to maintain strict documentation integrity.
- Oversee production workflows, inventory levels, and shipping logistics to help streamline daily operations.
- Conduct thorough quality assessments while assisting the Maintenance, Quality, and Production departments.
- Engage directly with clients to share progress updates and guarantee that all project specifications are satisfied.
Professional Requirements
- Status as a U.S. Person is required.
- Completion of a high school diploma or an equivalent educational credential.
- At least three years of hands-on experience operating machinery in a lab or manufacturing setting.
- Demonstrated mechanical proficiency, with preference given to those who have previously operated balancing systems.
- Understanding of fundamental machine controls, specifically regarding electrical components and pneumatic systems like switches and valves.
- Skilled in the safe and effective use of various shop equipment, hand tools, and power tools.
- Capability to analyze and translate technical blueprints and engineering drawings.
- Background in conducting quality inspections, with CMM operational experience considered an asset.
- Solid foundation in computer literacy, mathematical aptitude, and professional communication.
