ANNOUNCEMENT OF POSITION VACANCY
SUMMARY: The Manager is responsible for the overall store management. The individual in this position will be able to enhance customer satisfaction, meet sales and profitability goals and manage staff effectively.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop business strategies to raise our customers’ pool, expand store traffic and optimize profitability.
- Meet sales goals by training, motivating, mentoring, and providing feedback to staff.
- Ensure high levels of customers satisfaction through excellent service.
- Complete store administration and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
- Maintain outstanding store condition and visual merchandising standards.
- Report on buying trends, customer needs, profits etc.
- Develop and propose innovative ideas to increase market share and visibility.
- Ensure adequate levels of supplies and goods including grocery, frozen foods, produce, dairy, and deli items.
- Maintains a safe and healthy working and shopping environment in compliance with the L.A. County Health Department regulations.
- Assists in creating a sampling program to increase sales of products, securing sampling items.
- Assists in coordinating an on-campus sales program for weekly sales in Quad, CLA Building and other on-campus events.
- Assists in coordinating off-campus festivals, events, and special events.
- Ensure that the website is current, monitor and ensure maintenance of web site.
- Coordinates movement of product from on-campus farm and packing house to the store.
- Ensures the expediency of service lines and monitors peak services times.
- Ensures that the store is open and closed daily based on current policies and procedures.
- Work closely with the Huntley College Dean’s Office, academic departments and faculty to support integration of student experiential learning opportunities with Farm Store operations.
- Other related duties as assigned.
- Ability to adhere to a regular work schedule, which will include evenings and weekends.
MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES
Directly supervise full-time and student employees. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- High School diploma, Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Good leading skills and business orientation
- Customer management skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
