What are the responsibilities and job description for the Field Quality Operations Lead position at CAD Engineering Resources?
Imagine starting your day on the plant floor of a customer site, rallying your inspection team, aligning on a plan, and setting a high bar for quality. By midday, you are reviewing data, resolving a non-conformance, and updating work instructions. Before you wrap, you brief the customer, close out documentation, and shift resources to prepare for tomorrow. That is a typical day for our Field Quality Operations Lead.
Compensation & Schedule- Pay Rate: $20.00–$25.00 per hour based on proven work history
- Schedule: Normal business hours with readiness to provide responsive customer support outside standard hours
- Oversee daily operations of quality inspection teams across multiple customer locations
- Create, refine, and roll out work instructions for inspectors
- Train, coach, and deliver performance feedback to build a high-performing team
- Ensure quality activities meet project requirements and adhere to work instructions
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customer communications and expectations
- Maintain precise documentation: data sheets, time sheets, and project reports
- Conduct audits, attend daily meetings, and enter data into internal platforms
- Verify compliance with procedures, including dress code, PPE usage, and safe work practices
- Escalate non-conforming issues/materials or disputes to management for timely resolution
- Upload and update all required documentation into project databases within designated timelines
- Assign daily inspection work and allocate resources efficiently
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent REQUIRED
- Minimum two years of supervisory or leadership experience in automotive manufacturing or automotive quality assurance
- Strong customer service skills with proven business-to-business communication abilities
- Exceptional organization, attention to detail, and problem-solving capability
- Self-motivated, positive, and adaptable mindset
- Ability to travel to customer sites on short notice
- Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation
- Willingness and ability to provide responsive customer support outside of standard business hours
- Comply with the Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with ISO 9001:2015
- Identify concerns and initiate corrective actions (through verification) related to product, process, and quality systems
- Initiate preventive and continuous improvement actions related to product, process, and quality systems
