The Opportunity:
As an Exercise Planning Support Specialist you will have the opportunity to provide senior-level planning and execution support for joint and service exercises in support of I Marine Expeditionary Force (I MEF). This role supports the full exercise lifecycle, from concept development through execution and after-action reporting, and serves as a trusted advisor to leadership on exercise design, coordination, and readiness outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Provide senior-level exercise planning and execution support to I MEF.
- Support development and management of exercise plans, schedules, and objectives.
- Coordinate exercise planning activities with internal staff sections and external stakeholders.
- Support logistics, funding, and administrative coordination for exercises and training events.
- Participate in planning conferences, working groups, and execution reviews.
- Analyze exercise outcomes and support after-action reporting and improvement initiatives.
- Identify risks and issues during exercise planning and execution and recommend solutions.
- Prepare briefings and reports for senior leadership.
- Operate independently while delivering senior-level exercise planning expertise.
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent military experience).
- 10 years of experience in exercise planning or operational training support.
- Experience supporting Major Command or MEF-level exercises.
- Strong planning, coordination, and communication skills.
- Ability to operate independently in dynamic environments.
- Active TS/SCI clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Joint or combined exercise planning experience.
- Familiarity with joint exercise lifecycle processes.
