English as a Second Language Paraprofessional
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide academic support to English Learner (EL) students in general education and ESL classrooms, helping students access curriculum and complete assignments.
- Support language development by reinforcing vocabulary, reading comprehension, writing, and speaking skills in one-on-one or small-group settings.
- Assist in the supervision and engagement of EL students throughout the school day, including structured study or intervention periods.
- Collaborate with ESL and content-area teachers to gather and organize instructional materials and resources that support language learning.
- Help facilitate accommodations and modifications as outlined in individual Language Acquisition Plans.
- Serve as a liaison between students, teachers, and the ESL teacher to support effective communication and student needs.
- Maintain confidentiality with records related to student progress, interventions, and services.
- Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills, especially in culturally diverse settings.
- Assume all other duties as assigned by the building administrator.
- Work as a team member to help our students build success stories.
- This position requires regular and reliable in-person attendance
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Graduate with some college preferred.
- Basic computer literacy desired, with some familiarity with library and media preferred.
- Organizational and clerical skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Ability to relate to students, parents, staff, teachers, and members of the community.
WAGE: Per Hourly Rate
HOURS: Expected to work the full school year at 29 hours per week.
Salary : $36,192 - $50,904
