We are looking for a Principal (Director-level), Data Modeler & Architect to join our newly consolidated Data and Analytics (D&A) organization supporting our U.S. Business. The ideal candidate will be a highly technical individual contributor with deep expertise in both traditional and modern data management, engineering, data modeling, visualization, Salesforce, and cloud technologies. This role will involve playing a critical role in the data and analytics life cycle and significantly contributing to the architecture and design of data and analytics solutions across all business lines.

We are looking for a Principal (Director-level), Data Modeler & Architect to join our newly consolidated Data and Analytics (D&A) organization supporting our U.S. Business. The ideal candidate will be a highly technical individual contributor with deep expertise in both traditional and modern data management, engineering, data modeling, visualization, Salesforce, and cloud technologies. This role will involve playing a critical role in the data and analytics life cycle and significantly contributing to the architecture and design of data and analytics solutions across all business lines.
Key Responsibilities
- End-to-End Data Architecture Design: Design and solution end-to-end data architecture for data hubs/data products and Salesforce data all the way from source systems to consumption via Salesforce, web applications, and reporting & analytics solutions. Solve complex problems using data and advanced technologies.
- Data Modeling & Pipeline Design: Own and approve data models for data domains within the U.S. Group Benefits business. Design data pipelines for analytical and operational needs. Build, optimize, and troubleshoot ETL/ELT pipelines to ingest and store large volumes of structured and unstructured data for batch/real-time processing.
- Innovation & Framework Development: Ideate, solution, and lead the building of reusable data frameworks for enterprise use. Lead POCs to evaluate new technologies, data products, Salesforce products, and solutions as needed.
- Governance & Standards: Provide oversight for ongoing initiatives and ensure adherence to defined architecture, quality, security, and compliance guidelines, policies, and standards. Define and develop data standards, guidelines, patterns, and recommendations to be used across the organization.
- Collaboration & Leadership: Collaborate with multiple partners from Business, Technology, Operations, and D&A capabilities including Data Governance, Data Quality, Data Modeling, Enterprise Architecture, Data Science, DevOps, and BI & Insights. Independently lead design, solutioning, and estimations.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or equivalent educational qualification
- Experience: 8 years of overall related experience in data architecture, data engineering, or similar roles
- Skills: Data architecture expertise in both traditional systems (Oracle, SQL Server) and modern platforms (AWS, Azure). Knowledge of Salesforce data architecture patterns. Data modeling for OLTP & OLAP systems using various data modeling techniques. ETL pipeline design and development; solutioning and estimation. Knowledge of data quality and governance practices. Knowledge of BI Tools (Tableau, Power BI, etc.). Experience with Big Data and Cloud Frameworks including Apache Spark, Hadoop, and Hive. Exposure to Azure data factory, Synapse and/or Databricks. Expertise in core data management processes.

- Competitive Salary: $160,000 to $195,000, with eligibility for annual short-term incentive compensation
