Transportation Driver - CNA & Class E needed

Position Summary

Buffalo Prairie Care Center is seeking a dependable, compassionate Transportation Driver to safely transport residents to and from medical appointments, therapy visits, hospital discharges, and approved outings. The ideal candidate enjoys working with seniors, demonstrates excellent customer service, and is committed to providing safe, respectful transportation while assisting residents as needed.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport residents to scheduled medical appointments and other approved destinations.
• Assist residents with entering and exiting the vehicle using wheelchairs, walkers, and other mobility equipment.
• Secure wheelchairs and seat belts according to safety regulations.
• Maintain accurate transportation schedules and trip documentation.
• Communicate appointment times and transportation needs with nursing staff and families.
• Perform routine vehicle inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns promptly.
• Keep transportation vehicles clean, fueled, and in good working condition.
• Follow all traffic laws and company policies.
• Provide courteous, compassionate service while maintaining resident dignity and confidentiality.
• Assist with other facility duties when transportation is not scheduled, as assigned.

Qualifications

• Valid Class E Missouri Driver's License with a clean driving record.
• CNA Certification
• Previous experience transporting passengers is preferred but not required.
• Ability to safely operate wheelchair-accessible vehicles.
• CPR certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).
• Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must successfully pass background screening and drug screening.
