Controller – North America (Hybrid, Chicago)
Our long standing client is a global organization with a diverse client base is seeking a Regional Financial Controller to oversee accounting operations for its NA division! Location: Chicago, IL (Hybrid – 3 days in office)
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee full-cycle accounting, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow management.
- Deliver accurate, timely financial statements in compliance with IFRS and internal policies.
- Manage regional audits and coordinate with external auditors to ensure deadlines are met.
- Maintain proper documentation to meet internal and regulatory standards.
- Strengthen internal controls and monitor financial risks.
- Identify and implement process improvements and efficiency opportunities.
- Provide senior leadership with meaningful financial insights to support strategic decisions.
- Partner cross-functionally to influence key initiatives and align business goals.
- Collaborate with FP&A to review and analyze budget-to-forecast variances.
- Support M&A activities, including due diligence, integration, and reporting.
- Drive process automation, system enhancements, and improved analytics capabilities.
- Lead and develop a regional finance team, setting goals and mentoring staff.
- Conduct performance reviews, identify development opportunities, and plan succession.
- Build a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning.
Qualifications
- CPA required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 10 years of progressive accounting experience, including 5 years in a leadership role.
- Public accounting experience
