The Opportunity
In this role, you’ll oversee the company’s tax compliance and reporting functions, ensuring the timely and accurate filing of federal, state, and local tax returns. You’ll manage a small team, collaborate with cross-functional leaders, and play a critical role in audits, ASC 740 reporting, and process improvements.
What You’ll Do
- Lead and manage day-to-day tax compliance activities, including federal, state, and local income, franchise, sales/use, and property taxes.
- Supervise and mentor team members, providing guidance, performance feedback, and professional development.
- Ensure compliance with evolving tax regulations and maintain proper business licenses and permits.
- Coordinate and manage tax audits and inquiries from tax authorities.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external advisors to support accurate tax reporting and strategic planning.
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls over tax processes and documentation.
- Prepare and review ASC 740 disclosures and related reporting.
- Assist with month-end close and special projects as needed.
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or Master’s in Taxation preferred).
- 5 years of progressive tax experience, ideally in both public accounting and corporate environments.
- Strong technical knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws.
- Experience with Workday, Power BI, or other financial systems is a plus.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
