Our Accounting Manager / Accountant is responsible for full-cycle accounting, payroll, and has oversight on project accounting for our commercial construction projects. This role ensures accurate financial records, timely reporting, and smooth operations across multiple projects. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently while collaborating with Project Executives, Project Managers, and vendors.
Responsibilities:
- Perform full general accounting duties including accounts receivable, accounts payable, expense recording, and bank reconciliations
- Manage project accounting tasks including job cost tracking, draw submissions, and review of subcontractor and vendor billings
- Maintain and manage payroll for accounting and finance teams, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable regulations
- Oversight with review and processing lien waivers, change orders, certificates of insurance, and other project documentation
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes, reporting, and financial analysis
- Ensure accounting systems are organized and function efficiently to support daily operations
- Collaborate with project teams to provide financial insights and support decision-making
Qualifications:
- 4 years of accounting experience in the construction industry
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field strongly preferred
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Vista by Viewpoint preferred
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
