Project Accountant - Project Accounting, Accountant

Overview

The Project Accountant is a critical role in our organization as it is responsible for managing and analyzing all project-related financials. The Project Accountant must have an extensive understanding of project accounting, job costing, invoice/collection, and reconciliation processes. This position requires high attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze actual costs against budgeted costs to identify and explain variances
• Manage and reconcile job costing information
• Manage invoicing/collections to ensure accuracy and timely payments
• Implement internal control procedures to ensure adherence to company policies
• Provide accounting support for specific projects and tasks as assigned
• Review and approve accounts payable invoices
• Compile and report monthly financials for management review
  
  

Qualifications

• A bachelors degree in accounting or finance
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in project accounting and job costing
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
• Prior experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
