Data Center Repair Technician
Boardman, OR
W2 Contract: 4 week contract
Our client in the Hermiston area has multiple data center campuses in which we support multiple high-priority HVAC related projects. For this initial project, the scope involves performing routine inspections on approximately 500 server lifts throughout the data center campus over a 4 week period. Server lifts are specialized, high-value equipment used to raise and position servers safely and precisely within data centers. Because of their critical function, each unit must undergo inspection every six months. Inspections follow a standardized 18-point checklist and take approximately 45 minutes per lift.
Qualifications:
- Strong communicator, able to be client-facing
- Hands on background in the trades (HVAC, carpentry, etc)
- Strong communication, documentation & people leadership
- Ability to work autonomously; while you will work alongside a small team to complete the project, you will be individually responsible for executing inspections, documenting findings on paper during the shift, and entering all inspection data into an electronic reporting system via a mobile app at the end of each day.
Responsibilities:
- Cleaning and ensuring the lift is safe and ready for operation
- Testing core lift functions to confirm proper mechanical performance
- Completing final checks, including verifying vertical movement, checking battery voltage, and applying the inspection tag
- Updating and tracking project progress in Smartsheet
