What are the responsibilities and job description for the Per Diem Pathologist Assistant position at Brooklyn Hospital Center?
The Pathologist Assistant provides assistance in the performance of autopsy and surgical pathology services. Works independently when performing professional duties associated with the preparation, performance, and completion of autopsies, and examination and/or preparations of the surgical pathology specimens, with general supervision of Pathologist.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree from an accredited Pathologist Assistant program, or Medical Doctor (Foreign medical graduate)
- Minimum of six (6) months job related experience in a hospital setting, or
- Minimum of one (1) year internship in a clinical setting
- Minimum of six (6) months job related experience in a hospital setting, or
- Minimum of one (1) year internship in a clinical setting
- New York State Licensed Pathologist Assistant
- Basic knowledge of human anatomy, macro-surgical techniques, general laboratory skills
- Knowledge of laboratory information system preferred.
- Must possess verbal and spatial ability, form perception, finger and manual dexterity and clerical ability
- Able to read, write, and speak English fluently
