What are the responsibilities and job description for the Substitute Daycare Teacher position at Brooklyn Children Learning Academy?
Substitute Care Provider
Position Starts Immediately after meeting requirements.
Schedule: must have flexible availability between the hours of
Mon -Fri 7 am -6 pm (4-8 hour shift depend on center need)
Must be available on call to cover for staff absence; must be available to cover vacations.
Compensation: $20/ hour
Requirements
- 18 years/older
- HS Diploma
- 1 year experience caring for children
- Perfect position for college students
Must complete the following trainings upon start date:
- CPR and First Aid Certificate
- 5 hour health and safety e-learning course
- Mandated Reporter
- Medication Administration Training - funding available
Responsibilities
- Help maintain a clean, fun and safe learning environment (see center workflow)
- Communicate and meet with families about children’s development
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with staff members, students, families and visitors
- Engage students in hands on activities (indoors and outdoors)
- Model family style practices during meal times
- Implement routines that promote physical activity, rest, playtime, and healthy life practices
- Supervise and mentor volunteers, and camp employees during summer months
