The Service Technician I role is an entry-level position focused on learning and supporting cabinet installation, service, and warranty tasks. This technician assists senior service techs while developing foundational skills in cabinet adjustments, repairs, and job-site procedures. This role plays a vital part in ensuring completed installations are functional, visually consistent, and meet Brock Cabinets’ quality standards.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assist experienced technicians with cabinet installation, touch-ups, and warranty repairs.
- Transport, unload, and organize cabinet materials and tools on the job site.
- Perform basic adjustments and minor repairs, including:
- Touch-ups and surface corrections
- Replacing doors, drawer fronts, and hardware
- Installing shoe molding, scribe, and toekick
- Learn to install skins, crown molding, and other trim elements (with guidance).
- Understand cabinet sizes and gain foundational knowledge of cabinet construction.
- Use measuring tools accurately; perform basic cuts as needed.
- Develop proper use of hand and power tools common to cabinet installation.
- Perform small homeowner service appointments under supervision.
- Practice strong attention to detail to ensure cabinets meet alignment, fit, and finish standards.
- Provide professional communication and courteous customer service on job sites.
- Complete other entry-level tasks as assigned while building skill proficiency.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum age 21 with a valid Driver’s License
- 5 years licensed driving experience with no infractions (required)
- Ability to safely lift 50 pounds.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in measurement and alignment.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Effective communication skills (reading, writing, active listening).
- Problem-solving ability for basic field issues.
- Customer service-oriented mindset.
- Preferred Experience:
- 1 year cabinetry experience or construction experience, relevant work experience.
