We are seeking a Commercial Lines Account Manager to join our team in a hybrid capacity based out of Houston, TX. This role is ideal for an insurance professional who is customer-focused, detail-oriented, and passionate about helping businesses protect what matters most.
Position Summary
The Commercial Lines Account Manager serves as a primary point of contact for commercial insurance clients, providing day-to-day service, policy management, and support throughout the client lifecycle. This individual will work closely with producers, carriers, and clients to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction and retention.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and service a book of commercial insurance accounts.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, carriers, and internal stakeholders.
- Process policy changes, endorsements, renewals, certificates of insurance, audits, cancellations, and reinstatements.
- Review policies for accuracy and ensure coverage aligns with client needs.
- Prepare and market renewal submissions to insurance carriers as needed.
- Assist clients with coverage questions, claims inquiries, and risk management concerns.
- Maintain accurate client records and documentation within the agency management system.
- Collaborate with producers to identify cross-selling and account growth opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with agency procedures, carrier guidelines, and industry regulations.
- Deliver exceptional customer service and timely follow-up on all client requests.
Qualifications
- Active Texas Property & Casualty License preferred (or ability to obtain).
- Previous experience in commercial lines insurance, account management, or customer service preferred.
- Strong knowledge of commercial insurance coverages including General Liability, Commercial Property, Business Auto, Workers’ Compensation, Umbrella, and Professional Liability.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with agency management systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- High attention to detail and commitment to client service.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in an independent agency environment.
- Knowledge of Applied Epic, AMS360, HawkSoft, or similar agency management systems.
- CISR, CIC, or other industry designations are a plus.
