The Patient Services Coordinator plays a vital role in creating a positive and efficient experience for our patients. This position serves as the first point of contact, welcoming individuals to our clinic and guiding them through their administrative journey. You ensure seamless operations by managing appointments, handling patient inquiries, and maintaining accurate records, directly contributing to patient satisfaction and the overall success of our healthcare team.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- PRN shift, every Monday, Friday and Saturday
- Schedules patient appointments, managing complex calendars and optimizing clinic flow.
- Provides exceptional customer service, addressing patient questions and concerns with empathy and professionalism.
- Manages patient information within Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems, ensuring data accuracy and confidentiality.
- Verifies insurance coverage and benefits, clearly communicating financial responsibilities to patients.
- Applies medical terminology accurately when communicating with patients and staff, ensuring clarity in all interactions.
- Performs precise data entry for patient demographics, insurance details, and appointment information.
- Utilizes strong communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare providers.
- Engages in active listening to understand patient needs and provide appropriate assistance or direct them to the correct resources.
- Applies problem-solving skills to resolve scheduling conflicts, insurance issues, and patient concerns efficiently.
- Operates Microsoft Office Suite proficiently for correspondence, scheduling, and administrative tasks.
- Collaborates with clinical staff to ensure coordinated patient care and smooth transitions.
- Maintains a clean and organized reception area, fostering a welcoming environment.
Required Qualifications
Education
- Possesses a high school diploma or equivalent.
Experience
- Demonstrates at least one year of experience in a customer service role, preferably within a healthcare setting.
- Shows proficiency in administrative tasks and office operations.
Knowledge/Skills
- Understands and applies principles of Patient Scheduling.
- Delivers high-quality Customer Service.
- Navigates and utilizes Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
- Executes accurate Insurance Verification.
