Brilliant Financial Staffing has been engaged in a search for an AR Analyst with our client, a large, established organization in the smart home technology industry, headquartered in Oak Brook, IL. This company is seeking an analytical, detail-oriented professional to support a year-end accounts receivable cleanup initiative within its Credit and Collections department. The AR Analyst will review a substantial portfolio of outstanding receivables, analyze aging data, investigate account discrepancies, and identify actionable next steps for high-priority accounts. This is a 3–4 month contract opportunity offering the chance to contribute to a high-impact project while collaborating with an established credit and collections team.

AR Analyst Responsibilities:

• Analyze a large portfolio of outstanding accounts receivable, including approximately $400 million in open receivables, with a focus on accounts approaching or exceeding 180 days past due.
• Review, validate, and organize AR data to identify aging issues, inconsistencies, missing information, and opportunities for resolution.
• Segment outstanding receivables by aging, dollar value, customer, risk level, and collection status to help prioritize high-impact accounts.
• Partner with credit and collections team members to establish account ownership, understand collection strategies, and determine appropriate next steps.
• Research high-priority customer accounts to identify the reasons for outstanding balances, investigate potential roadblocks, and recommend actionable solutions.
• Identify appropriate customer contacts and determine when follow-up or additional outreach is necessary.
• Process cash applications, account write-offs, and debit and credit adjustments as needed.
• Reconcile cash receipts and detailed accounts receivable balances to the general ledger at month-end.
• Investigate and resolve customer deductions, validate claims, and coordinate with internal teams to support timely resolution.
• Prepare supporting documentation for credit and debit memos and assist with customer account adjustments.
• Prepare and distribute monthly departmental metrics and reports to support credit and collections performance.
• Assist with credit applications, credit reference inquiries, retail account maintenance, and other accounts receivable activities as needed.

AR Analyst Qualifications:

• Strong experience in accounts receivable analysis, credit analysis, collections, or related accounting functions.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze large volumes of AR data, identify trends, investigate discrepancies, and prioritize outstanding balances.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUPs, PivotTables, and data analysis-REQUIRED
• Experience working with aging reports, customer deductions, account reconciliations, and outstanding receivables.
• SAP experience is strongly preferred.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with exceptional attention to detail.
