Job Title: Accounting Clerk

Location: Chicago, IL (100% Onsite – River North)
Pay Rate: $26/HR–$28/HR
Benefits: Health, dental, and vision insurance. 401(k).

Duration: 3–6 Month Contract, with Potential for Extension

Brilliant Financial Staffing has been engaged in the search for an Accounting Clerk for our client, an established retail display and advertising company located in Chicago, IL (River North). This contract opportunity will focus on supporting daily accounts payable and accounts receivable activities, maintaining accurate financial records, organizing documentation, and assisting with accounting process improvements.

Accounting Clerk Responsibilities:

• Assist with daily accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) activities, including processing approximately 50–100 AP invoices and 10–20 AR invoices per month.
• Perform accurate data entry and maintain organized, up-to-date accounting records.
• Organize, maintain, and update physical and electronic files, financial documents, and company records.
• Help clear existing paperwork backlogs and improve document organization and recordkeeping processes.
• Assist with data organization and process updates during the transition from Microsoft Great Plains (Dynamics GP) to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
• Provide general administrative and operational support to the accounting team and leadership.
• Assist with office coordination, including scheduling, client gifts, holiday parties, and other company activities.
• Handle confidential company and financial information with professionalism and discretion.
• Identify opportunities to improve workflows and streamline processes.

Accounting Clerk Qualifications:

• 2 years of relevant accounting or bookkeeping experience.
• Familiarity with accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoice processing, and general accounting administration.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and the ability to learn new accounting systems.
• Strong communication skills and a dependable, proactive approach to work.
• Experience with Microsoft Great Plains (Dynamics GP), Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, or another ERP system is preferred but not required.
