My client is a global top industry leading construction, contracting and maintenance group. We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll and Accounts Payable Specialist to lead accurate payroll processing and AP reconciliation. This role ensures compliance and maintains precise financial records.
What You'll Be Doing:
Payroll
- Collect and verify timekeeping data; calculate wages, taxes, and deductions.
- Process payroll for new hires and terminations; issue payments via direct deposit or checks.
- Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including certified payroll reporting.
Accounts Payable
- Review and reconcile invoices, ensuring proper matching with purchase orders and receipts.
- Reconcile monthly vendor statements and assist with year-end 1099 filings.
- Maintain organized AP records (physical and digital).
General Accounting
- Assist with month-end close and reconcile related ledger accounts.
- Respond to employee and vendor inquiries promptly.
- Support internal and external audits.
What They're Looking For:
- Associate degree (or greater) in Accounting or related field.
- 3 years blended experience in payroll and accounts payable
- Proficiency in payroll systems (ADP, Paylocity, etc.), accounting software (QuickBooks), and advanced Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP).
- Accuracy, analytical skills, confidentiality.
- Strong organization, time management, and communication abilities.
