Position Overview:
The Business Systems Analyst (BSA) serves as a critical bridge between business stakeholders and technology teams, supporting the configuration, optimization, and ongoing management of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement (CE) and other enterprise applications. This role is responsible for translating business requirements into functional system solutions, driving user adoption, and ensuring enterprise applications deliver measurable value to the organization. The BSA plays a key role in supporting transformation initiatives by aligning technology capabilities with evolving business needs. A core element of this role is the design and optimization of business processes — identifying inefficiencies, establishing standardized workflows, and ensuring that enterprise systems are configured to enable streamlined, scalable operations across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Business Analysis & Requirements Management: Elicit and validate cross‑departmental business requirements, translate them into detailed functional documentation, analyze and improve current‑state processes using Dynamics 365 CE, and maintain a prioritized backlog of enhancements, defects, and change requests aligned with business needs.
- Microsoft Dynamics 365 CE Support & Configuration: Serve as the internal SME for Dynamics 365 CE by configuring and maintaining core components, partnering with IT and vendors on system integrations, monitoring performance and data integrity, and supporting upgrades, patches, and release‑wave planning through impact assessment and coordinated testing.
- Enterprise Application Support: Provide Tier 2 functional support across the enterprise application portfolio by triaging and escalating issues, collaborating with departmental stakeholders to ensure systems meet business needs, documenting configurations and integration points to maintain an internal knowledge base, and supporting vendor management through issue escalation, SLA monitoring, and license reviews.
- Testing & Quality Assurance: Develop and execute test plans, scripts, and UAT for system changes and new implementations, coordinating participants and defect resolution to ensure readiness for deployment, and validating data migration and post‑go‑live reconciliations throughout implementation projects.
- Training & Change Management: Develop end‑user training materials and role‑based documentation, facilitate training and provide floor support during rollouts, champion user adoption by addressing barriers to effective system use, and serve as a change agent to help the organization adapt to technology‑enabled process improvements.
- Project Participation: Participate in enterprise application implementation projects by supporting requirements gathering, design, testing, and go‑live activities; coordinating with project managers, solution architects, and vendors to deliver milestones on schedule; and providing leadership with status updates and issue escalations as needed.
Required Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field (or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience).
- Analytical Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, or similar role supporting enterprise business applications.
- Dynamics 365 CE: Hands‑on experience with Sales, Customer Service, or related modules.
- Technical Skills: Working knowledge of Microsoft Azure, Dataverse, and the Power Platform; ability to interpret data models, write basic queries, and work with structured data sets.
- Integration Knowledge: Familiarity with integration patterns and middleware concepts (e.g., APIs, Azure Integration Services).
- Productivity Tools: Proficiency with Microsoft 365 tools including Teams, SharePoint, Excel, and Visio.
- Problem‑Solving: Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to decompose complex business problems into actionable solutions.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present technical concepts to non‑technical audiences.
- Work Style: Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment and collaborate effectively across business and IT functions.
- Professional Traits: High degree of intellectual curiosity and commitment to continuous learning of emerging platform capabilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications: Microsoft Certified: Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement Functional Consultant Associate (MB‑210 or MB‑230), Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Functional Consultant Associate (PL‑200), or IIBA CBAP or PMI‑PBA certification.
- Systems: Experience with the Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI), ERP platforms such as D365 Finance & Operations, SAP, or similar, and familiarity with HCM systems.
- System Implementation: Experience supporting system implementations in mid‑to‑large organizations.
Work Environment:
- Physical Conditions: Standard office environment with prolonged periods of sitting and computer use. May occasionally require standing or moving between office areas.
