Duties
- Plan, organize, and lead age-appropriate activities that promote childhood development, creativity, teamwork, and leadership.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively through positive behavior management techniques to ensure a respectful and inclusive environment.
- Provide guidance and support to children with diverse needs, including those requiring special education accommodations or behavioral support.
- Ensure safety by maintaining classroom management protocols, conducting regular safety checks, and administering first aid when necessary.
- Collaborate with parents, teachers, and other caregivers to support each child's individual growth plan.
- Facilitate recreational activities such as sports coaching, theater productions, or arts & crafts to encourage self-expression and physical activity.
- Maintain detailed records of daily activities, incidents, and progress reports to monitor each child's development.
Skills
- Strong classroom management skills with the ability to maintain discipline while fostering a positive environment.
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles and childhood development stages.
- Experience working with children in various settings such as daycare, camp, tutoring, or babysitting.
- Ability to implement behavior management strategies tailored to individual needs.
- Proficiency in first aid and child safety procedures to respond effectively in emergencies.
- Familiarity with special education practices and working with children who have unique learning requirements.
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with families, team members, and community partners.
