Life Skills and Behavior Support Specialist

Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Life Skills and Behavior Support Specialist to empower individuals with neurodiversities, including Autism and other behavioral health challenges. In this role, you will provide personalized support to help clients develop essential life skills, manage behaviors effectively, and achieve greater independence. Duties

• Implement individualized behavior support plans tailored to each client’s unique needs, focusing on skill acquisition and behavior management strategies
• Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as grooming, hygiene, dressing, and meal preparation to promote independence
• Use effective communication techniques, including visual schedules, choice boards, etc when applicable, to enhance understanding and interaction with students
• Collect and record data on student progress, behaviors, and skill development to inform ongoing care plans and ensure accountability
• Support clients in community settings by facilitating social interactions, transportation, and participation in recreational activities
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure consistent support and positive outcomes for clients

Experience

• Prior experience working with individuals with developmental delays or Autism is highly preferred
• Background in special education or behavioral health services is advantageous
• Proven caregiving experience in home or community care environments demonstrating patience and adaptability preferred
• Knowledge of behavior management techniques and data collection methods for tracking progress preferred
• Familiarity with medication administration procedures and safety protocols
• Strong communication skills preferred
• Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation to get to and from work.

Pay: $32,000.00 - $35,000.00 per year
