Responsibilities
- Supervise children during before and after school hours, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
- Plan and facilitate age-appropriate activities, including arts and crafts, sports, outdoor games, and educational projects
- Maintain a structured environment that promotes positive behavior through effective classroom management techniques
- Implement first aid protocols and respond promptly to minor injuries or emergencies using CPR and AED equipment when necessary
- Collaborate with team members to develop engaging youth programs that support childhood development and early education goals
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding children’s progress, behavior, and program participation
- Uphold all safety standards, including child supervision policies, first aid procedures, and outdoor work safety measures
Requirements
- Prior experience working with children in educational, childcare, camp, or youth program settings is highly preferred
- Knowledge of classroom management strategies and behavior management techniques
- Certification in first aid, CPR, AED operation, or willingness to obtain upon hire
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide children in a variety of activities
- Experience with special education needs or childhood development is a plus
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions during outdoor activities
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with children, parents, and team members effectively
