Title: Youth Development Professional
Salary: $16 – $17/hour
Hours: Varying by Department (Athletics, Childcare, Teen) – Morning, Afternoon, Daytime, Evening, & Special Events
Location: Cumberland-Lincoln and/or Woonsocket Clubhouse
Overview: The Youth Development Professional is a part-time hourly position, up to 29 hours per week. YDP’s are responsible for assisting in implementing youth programs and activities throughout our club sites.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Create a safe, positive, and fun experience for all youth.
- Supervision of youth, using the rule of three, ensuring no one-on-one situations occur, and appropriate staff-youth ratios are in place at all times.
- Ensure accurate attendance is taken in each program area and during transitions.
- Communicate in a consistent and appropriate manner to all youth.
- Be a positive and supportive role model.
- Assist in the preparation of daily activities, ensure they are accessible for all youth, while promoting active participation and engagement.
- Ensure program areas are clean and organized.
- Assist in the safe transportation of youth if needed.
- Serve snacks and/or meals as needed.
- Immediately report all incidents to your Direct Supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Must be 18 and have a high school diploma or GED
- A team player with the ability to multitask and communicate effectively
- Successfully pass all BCI requirements
- Must be or become certified in CPR, First Aid and AED
- Required to sit, stand, talk, or hear; via computer, telephone, or in person as needed.
- Frequently required to engage in active play with children, including bending, reaching, running, and participating in age-appropriate physical activities and sports.
- Must be able to lift, carry, and move equipment weighing up to 40 pounds.
- May be required to work indoors and outdoors in varying environment conditions.
