A cloud-first Managed Services Provider is seeking a highly consultative Solutions Engineer / Solutions Architect to lead customer-facing cloud, infrastructure, and cybersecurity projects for SMB and mid-market clients throughout the Richmond and Northern Virginia area.
This is not a reactive support role. This position is focused on discovery, solution design, technical consulting, and project ownership within a modern Microsoft-centric MSP environment. You’ll work directly with leadership and clients to architect and deliver Microsoft 365, Azure, cybersecurity, and infrastructure modernization solutions while serving as a trusted technical advisor.
Location
- 95% Work From Home
- Preference for candidates near Richmond or Northern Virginia
- Occasional onsite client visits (~1x/month)
Compensation
- $130K–$160K base salary
- Additional upside tied to projects and customer growth
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead client discovery and technical strategy conversations
- Scope, design, and help implement:
- Microsoft 365
- Azure / Azure Virtual Desktop
- Entra ID & Intune
- Identity/security modernization
- Cloud migrations
- Cybersecurity initiatives
- Create SOWs, proposals, and technical documentation
- Partner closely with sales, leadership, and engineering teams
- Own projects from discovery through delivery
What Makes You a Great Fit
- MSP experience required
- Strong Microsoft 365, Azure, and networking fundamentals
- Experience with:
- Entra ID
- Exchange Online
- Intune
- Firewalls/VPNs
- MFA, EDR/MDR, and security best practices
- Comfortable leading customer-facing conversations with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Strong documentation and project ownership experience
